The historic centre of Gorlago has a typical medieval layout: narrow streets and stone buildings. Within the village stands the ancient Lanzi castle, which dates back to the year 1000. Adjacent to it, it is still possible too see the church of Saints Andrew and Anna, the earliest in Gorlago.

Gorlago is a historic village that retains its ancient medieval structure. Its name derives from the whirlpool (in Latin “gurgus”) created by the Cherio river that flows through the town. Here, you can admire the Church of San Pancrazio, inside of which the famous “Last Judgment” by Giovan Battista Moroni is preserved. Not to be missed are the Romanesque churches of St. Andrew and St. Anna, dating back to the 12th century, the remains of the castle, and Villa Gozzini, adorned with frescoes by Cavagna.
