An ancient peculiarity of Paratico is the relationship between rail and naval transport. In fact, there was a dock where wagons were loaded onto motor boats to reach the steel mill on the other side of the lake. At the time, the 2-hour boat trip was cheaper than the land journey.

We are on the south-western shore of the lake, at the point where the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia are connected by the bridge that links Sarnico to Paratico. The town of Paratico attracts many tourists to discover its beauties, including the medieval ruins of the Lantieri Castle and the tower of the same name, the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta, the ancient fishery or the permanent sculpture exhibitions: at the station, at the Erbe Danzanti Park (Dancing Herbs Park) and at the Oselanda Park. An authentic gem is the Taxodi Forest, a natural oasis crossed by a wooden footbridge and home to numerous bald cypress trees.

Enjoy your ride!
